About

Storytex is a network of people. We are transdisciplinary experts in our respective fields.

Most of us work free-lance, though Storytex has a hybrid structure of a company and a non-profit called “The Library for a Happy Future”.

In our team of collaborators we are different in character, culture and rhythm. Yet, we speak a common language. The one of awareness, respect and humor.

What we do is a commitment to our Work and Design Axioms. We call them the Principles of the Mothertree or Samauma.

The “Samaúma” or “Mapajo” (Ceiba) is the tallest tree in the rainforest. It is powerful, mystical, sacred and is a home and in connection with many living beings, water, winds and weather.

The Principle of the Samaúma as we learn and practice them include:

  • To cultivate respect, interconnectedness of everything we do, patience, collaboration and giving back.
  • To work by honouring what became before us and what will come after us. This includes all living beings.
  • To understand humanity as part of nature no matter how seemingly far away we may feel.
  • To believe in learning by doing.
  • To honour failure as much as success.
  • To value expertise coming from many sources and regardless of age and formal degrees.
  • To make “sense” with all senses beyond the intellect. To see technology and nature as a continuum.
  • To work in the spirit of love for what we do.
